Joy Croel
Joy has been teaching the word of God since age 16 in the various churches over the years and when she retired from education the ministry of introducing people and teaching them about her Heavenly faith became more of a full time activity and remains so to this day having served as a Lay Minister at Hope UMC in Southfield for 11 years. She is the author of “Woman You Are Special” and a number of articles about the Kingdom of God.
Joy spent the first part of her adult life as a wife and mother. After her second divorce at age 45 she began her academic education; obtaining her Associate degree in 13 months, her Bachelor degree in 16 months, following up with her Masters degree from Cambridge College in 4 months. During this time she created and developed a financial literacy program for middle school students teaching them how money works. This was a very successful program with over 300 students participating.
Joy went on to become the principal of a k-12 Christian school. Years later she returned to Detroit public schools after taking care of two of her grandchildren after their mother passed away.
